The River, Beyond and Between

The River, Beyond and Between is a supplemental
system built for exploring the realms of gods that you are not meant to enter. It is built
to affect and attack the characters directly, by turning a character’s sheet into a
bargaining chip and a story all its own.
The purpose of The River is to provide an alternative method of running sessions taking place in a realm outside the mortal. It is not built to sustain a long-term campaign alone, but rather to be used in conjunction with a currently existing campaign. It is built for one to two session games at most, to allow the players a way to analyze their character and their connection to the divine without interrupting a longer campaign.
